The National Registered Historic Town of Ridgway is located at the South entrance of the Allegheny National Forest. North of Interstate 80 at the intersection of Routes 219 and 948. This quiet little town, rich in lumber heritage and home to many beautiful historic Victorian buildings, comes alive the last week of February. Hundreds of artists from all over the word, equipped with chainsaws, converge on the town and turn ordinary logs into complete works of art. It's little wonder then that Ridgway is also known as the 'Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous Capital of the World' and you'll understand why when you visit the 'Enchanted Woodlins' of Ridgway.
