Schedule of Events for the General Public (2009)

We are constantly adding new things to see and do during The Rendezvous to our schedule, so please check back every now and then to see the latest on what’s going on.

 

We truly put our hearts and souls into this annual event and we hope you have a fantastic time while you’re in Ridgway at our Rendezvous.

 

 

Saturday, Feb 21
• 9a.m. -5 p.m.

Carvers arrive and begin setting up. All day carving

 

Sunday, Feb. 22
• 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Carvers will be showcasing their talent and many will have carvings for sale. A great time to meet and greet the carvers.

 

Monday through Thursday, Feb 23 through Feb 26
• 9 a.m til noon
Daily seminars and workshops at Appalachian Arts Studio, 17245 Boot Jack Road located one mile south of Ridgway on Route 219

 

Great opportunity to learn about the art form from some of the finest and most recognized names in the industry.

• Jack McIntire-Selah, WA
• Jeff Samudosky, Columbia, CT
• Ken Tynan, Des Moines, IA

 

1:00 -  5:00 p.m.
Carvers will be carving at the Festival Grounds Located at 1 Gillis Avenue. Turn left off main Street at the fourth light

 

Friday, February 27

• 9a.m.  – 5p.m.

Ice Carving with Wayne DeMoranville,  Lakeville, MA at the Visitors Center Located in the heart of town. First light on Main Street and route 219 intersection

 

Wood Carving at Festival Site

• Shuttle bus rides to event site ongoing throughout the day

• Horse and Wagon rides –  a unique way to tour the Victorian Town of Ridgway.

 

Trout Run Carriage from York, PA  will be conducting rides and tours from 10:00 a.m. til 4:00 p.m. Friday. There is a $3.00 per person charge, this promises to be great fun.

 

• 6 p.m - Visitors Center - Candle Light Service “Prayer for Peace” Candle light adorns the ice carving display. A beautiful, touching experience
 

Saturday, Feb 28

• 9 a.m. Carvers will be carving throughout the day at the festival site beginning at 9:00 a.m.


• Shuttle bus rides to the event site

• 10:00 – 2:00 pm.
Horse and wagon tour of town

• Noon til done The Auction – Inside the Warehouse

• 10 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.  – Charlie Wheeler Band will perform at Aiello Cafι. $5.00 at the door.  www.charliewheelerband.com

 

*Net proceeds will benefit Appalachian Education, Inc A 501(c) (3) Non-profit dedicated to Hands-On Learning through Art and Environmental programs offered at the Appalachian Arts Studios.
