As i look back through my notes from last year, i see it was about this exact same time we launched this website and started making announcements for the 2005 'Vous. Funny how that seems like just yesterday, and yet it's been a year already. Wow!
I know many of you will be starting to look at your schedules for next year and deciding whether or not you can make it. While your planning may just be starting, you can be sure we started work pretty much as soon as this year's event ended! And as someone reminded me just a few days ago, we're now officially closer to the next Rendevous than we are to the last one which means it's all systems go!
Every year we say this year's Rendevous is going to be bigger and better, and based on your feedback, every year we've somehow managed to achieve that. But 2006 looks like shaping up to be something else entirely. We are definitely looking to take the next step in the evolution of the Rendezvous, and although much of what we have planned is still under wraps, what i CAN tell you is, there are going to be a number of new and exciting things in store. For starters, we've extended the Vous to over a week, so it will run from Feb 18-25!
This year's registration form is now up as well, so feel free to register whenever you're ready (as a few eager carvers have already done!). And please keep in mind, most local hotels start taking bookings from carvers and tourists around about now, so it's never too early to make sure you have a place to stay.
For now, Rick and I are off to Sandringham in the UK for the carving event there, but when i get back i look forward to telling you a bit more about everything that's going on.
